So fare have tried three different teas, a pomegranit and raspberry, a Kalahari and a sencha. I figure if I write them down I don't have to remember them. The blip photos are going well, and I will walk down to the river to try and get a photo there in the early light. I finish up work tomorrow for three weeks and am so looking forward to a break.
Ok out of bed and off for a walk. Come on skaifee.

So far the list has been fun and achievable. I tried a sencha tea ( green tea) and a pomegranate and raspberry tea, which was refreshing. I bought a can of rice milk and had that for morning tea yesterday, it was very sweet, and did not taste very rice like. If I had to find a substitute for ordinary milk I think I would try rice milk over soy.
I have taken photos every day, and becoming more adept at downloading, uploading and locating them on my disc. I also learned to resize them using gimp. I had to apply for a new scuba card, in order to go diving on gili islands in a fortnight.
5 minutes per day on excercise bike is leaving my hips sore.
I took particular note of the sunset last night, so feel I can cross one off the list.
I am enjoying the blogging and blipphoto site, hopefully it will encourage me to take better photos.
I will just read a few more pages of book before getting out of bed and getting off to work.

New Year's day
We enjoyed the company of Janine and Mathew last night, who came for a late dinner and game of boules. They were kind enough to bring martini ingredients and make one for me. I don't think I will be rushing to have another. It was OK, but I think I prefer something just a little sweeter.
So now I can tick the first item off my list. : )
I will spend the day catching up with family and friends.

Turning 50
I will be turning 50 in about a week. I think this is a significant birthday, as it is divisible by 10. I think it is probably over half way through my life.
To mark the occasion I will be assembling a list of things to try and do in the next year. These are things that I want to be outside my normal way of life. There is no criteria for adding an item to this list, I want it to be quite ecclectic and spontaneous. I just want to feel I am enjoying life a little more, and getting a value added extra for this year.
In no particular order my list so far

RSS feeds
RSS feeds stand for Really simple Syndication, and is a means of keeping up to date with your favourite websites. It pulls in information from sites you have subscribed to, and puts it in google reader or bloglines. I subscribed to unshelved, a comic strip about life in library. If I go to my google page, it is displayed as a feed.
We also looked quickly at other search engines. Bananaslug was different, there is also Wink for people, yahoo, dogpile which is a meta search engine.

Wikis and Widgets
The term wiki is inspired by a shuttle bus in honolulu. The wikiwiki shuttle at honolulu airport was a term for a quick bus service. A wiki online is a quick service linking similar websites together. The best known wiki is Wikipedia, but there are many others which are directed at specific interest groups such as the http://www.libsuccess.org/index.php?title=Main_Page, the library success wiki.
Wiki's allow casual users to have input into web page content and design. Whilst this means pages on wikipedia relating to contentious items are liable to be biased, it also means wiki pages are often not considered reliable for academic research. They are however a good way of sharing information and I will be looking at them more.
Widgets, wow they are fun. Web Gadgets. We visited www.widgetbox.com and selected a cute widget, or web gadget. Mine is maukie the virtual cat. Just what I need. There are two ways of adding a widget, the easiest was to press the big button that says add widget, then select blogger from the options that pop up.
